Moeller Electric Safety System Overview
1. Power Box:
This module executes the interruption of the power supply voltage to the machinery. It receives a disconnection command from the Disconnect Switch, releases its power contactor(s), and transmits confirmation of the zero-energy state to the Disconnect Switch light. The control voltage for the Safety Lockout System is generated in the Power Box.

2. Control Box:

This module is used as an interface between the Power Box and the Disconnect Switch inputs, or the Marshalling Boxes. In addition, it incorporates the functionality of the Marshalling Box. The Control Box receives it's power from the Power Box and feeds the relays of the Marshalling Box(es) and the lamps of the Disconnect Switches.

3. Marshalling Box:

This module is a concentrator of inputs (Disconnect Switches) and sends back a confirmation signal of the zero-energy state coming from the Control Box to the Disconnect Switches.

4. Disconnect Switches:

These switches allow the machinery operators to safely disconnect the power supply at various loations on the machine, thus eliminating concern before starting to work in an exposed area. The Disconnect Switch located near the exposed area sends a disconnection command to the Power Box and is able to receive the confirmation of the zero-energy state of the SLS output, indicated by a green light on the top of each Disconnect Switch.
