Types of Service and Repairs We Do:
*Do to the technical nature of some Heidenhain Encoders, at times we may have to send your encoder(s) to Heidenhain for Service and Repair. You will be notified should this apply to your encoder.
Heidenhain Encoder Service and Repair Fee's
All Service and Repairs on Heidenhain Encoders will be quoted once the encoder is evaluated at our facility. Standard Turn around time is 5 - 10 Business Days after evaluation for Service and Repairs unless you opt to pay the Rush Fee.
Evaluation Fee:
Typically Powertronics will evaluate your Heidenhain encoder within 1 - 3 Business Days upon arrival at our facility. We then will test your encoder to determine what is wrong and what is needed to fix your Heidenhain Encoder. Along with checking your Heidenhain encoder this will also cover cleaning for all encoders that end up being repaired.
Rush Fee:
This fee will move your Heidenhain Encoder to the front of the line.Your encoder will be evaluated within 1 Business Day once it arrives at our facility.Typical repair turn around time with the Rush Fee is 3 - 5 Business Days.
*The Rush Fee will be waived if the Heidenhain Encoder is deem not repairable.
First contact Powertronics Inc with the below information on your encoder. Also provide any and all symptoms your encoder has or error messages on your controller. Example: "My encoder will not reference on the machine, and our machine tool error message says X-Axis Not Found"
With that information we will up front tell you if that style of Heidenhain Encoder is still repairable based on part availability. If Yes, we will need to gather information such as your Company Name, Contact Information, and your payment information. We will then have you ship the encoder(s) to the below address for our service center referencing your Sales Order Number. You will not be charged till the completion of the order. We will then evaluate your encoder and contact you with what it will cost to repair. If we evaluate your encoder and it is deemed that replacing the encoder would be a better option we will quote that along with the repair cost. At that point it will be your decision "Yes or No" to go ahead with the repair. At any point during this process you can always contact us with questions!
