Magnetic Coupler Drive Motors: The Conductix/Wampfler Magnetic Coupler Drive Motors provide the Cable Reel with constant torque for maximum cable lift, and if power is lost the magnetic coupler will maintain tension till power is returned to the reel. Also, because, there is no mechanical connection between the magnets, these drives will work in most explosion proof applications! When it comes to maintenance you can easily expect 5 years or 15,000 operating hours without having to do any routine maintenance! Conductix wants to make your life easier so most motor driven reels come with standard "off the shelf" NEMA C-Face Motors so they are readily available and easy to replace. Just unbolt the motor from the magnetic coupler, and bolt the new one on!
Multiple Spool Configurations: The Conductix/Wampfler Motor Driven Reels come with multiple spool type options. They include Bulk Wrap, Monospiral, and Level Wind. The Bulk Wrap will provide you with the lowest cost, and smallest spool size, but may pose some problems with cable control. The Monospiral is greatest for 100% possitive wrapping, but due to the single wrap style, it is the larges in spool diameter. This leaves the Level Wind Motor Driven Spool style. The Level Wind is the most expensive style, but gives the ability to carry very high amounts of cable in a medium size package, and also enable you to maintain good cable control.
